I just saw American Teen, and it was incredible...truly excellent film. And it got me thinking--why do stories set in high school grab me so much? Freaks & Geeks, the early years of Buffy, the John Hughes 80's stuff, Friday Night Lights...I can't get enough of it.
I think it's cuz I was unpopular in high school that these stories still resonate with me--part of me wants to relive it to be someone else, and part of me has to watch like when you stare at a glass falling and shattering instead of doing something about it...
They always say you always see yourself as who you were in high school, no matter how old you are--you guys find that to be true?
